Carter's Baby Clothes

Let me start by saying HELLOOO I love Carter's baby clothes. Just like most moms I always want to dress my little boy in adorable baby clothes, but since we are a one income family I am always looking for a bargain as well.

Carter's clothes are super soft which mommy loves while hugging the baby and baby seems happy in them as well. The applique's and embroidery on the clothing are durable and seem to stand up to spit up, teething, and wash after wash.

My favorite place to find Carter's bargains is at my local Costco Warehouse. They usually have several tables of sizes ranging from 3mo to 5T. I have found onsies, Pajamas, and t-shirt and pants sets. The best part??? IT'S SUPER CHEAP. My husband and I just bought 9mo Pajamas with a matching bib for less than $6! 2 months ago I also bought a matching t-shirt and pants set for less than $6 as well.

You can find Carter's clothes other places like Sears and at Carter's outlets but the cost is always higher than Costco. One other great feature of the Carter's clothes are the tagless labels. I know I hate it when I wear clothes with scratchy tags so I'm sure Dylan loves not having to feel them either. 5 Stars for Carter's!

Similac Formula, a Great Supplement

I am a firm believer in the importance of breast feeding but unfortunately I have not been able to produce enough breast milk to keep my little guy satisfied.

We were given a sample of Similac Early Advance Shield and a great diaper bag from Similac when we were in the hospital having our baby. Dylan has done great with the formula. It does not seem to cause him gas or tummy troubles. According to www.similac.com, "Similac Advance EarlyShield is the first and only infant formula that has a unique blend of prebiotics, nucleotides and antioxidants — nutrients naturally found in breast milk. Plus, it has DHA and ARA, ingredients shown to help your baby's brain and eyes develop. And Similac Advance EarlyShield is kosher."

Not only does this formula contain things that are important for the health of my son..it is also very reasonably priced as far as formulas go. In most stores I can find the newly designed SimplePac with the attached lid and hidden scoop inside the lid for around $21.00. PLUS if you sign up on www.similac.com you can get terrific coupons in the mail for $5 off your purchase of the formula!

In summation when I need to supplement with formula I definitely choose the Similac brand over some of the other competitors, for the price and ingredients.

Diaper Rash Creams, What Works Best..

My son is now 3 months old and we have been blessed that he has never had a diaper rash.. until recently. Because he is teething and producing more saliva his Number 2 has contained more acid which caused a pretty nasty rash that appeared in just an hour's time.

Luckily we had 3 different diaper rash creams on hand so I got to try a few types to see which kind was most effective.

I started out with the ever popular Boudreaux's Butt Paste. It comes in a cute tube with an amusing name. The application was fairly simple with some fragrance. The texture of the creme was kind of a mixture between smooth and chunky..however I couldn't get the cream to adhere to his buns worth a darn. The second the diaper hit the buns the cream was instantly wiped away from the inflamed area which did not help to protect the buns or heal them.

After a few applications of the Butt Paste, I next tried Aveeno Baby Soothing Diaper Rash Cream. Right away I liked the Aveeno brand better. It was a smoother cream but it was very thick! I could put on several layers of the Aveeno and it would stick to the areas of the buns that needed treated. Most of the time it stuck so well that it was still noticeably on the buns when I removed the diaper for the next diaper change.

Within a few days the rash was almost completely cleared up but we had run out of our small tube of the Aveeno cream. The last diaper cream I tried was Desitin's Original Overnight Relief. Although I thought the Aveeno was spectacular in healing the rash I was very impressed with the Desitin. It was Hypoallergenic and the consistency was amazing! As my husband described it, "It is like smearing on Cool Whip." The best part about the Desitin was the cost. I priced it at my local Walmart and it was between $3-$4!

In review. The Butt Paste makes a fun baby shower gift but is not the best at healing a diaper rash, and the Aveeno soothing cream works terrific, however my mom pick on this one goes to the Overnight Relief Original formula Desitin.

Parent's Choice, Walmart Diapers

Alright parents listen up! We all want the best for our babies but we also want to SAVE MONEY on all the necessary baby supplies. The Walmart brand Parent's Choice diapers are a great option for doing just that. I have tried Huggies, Pampers, Luvs, Costco Brand, and even Organic Diapers! While each of these brands offer Special things like Powdery fragrances, & Cutesy Character Designs they lack the bargain saving price of The Parent's Choice Diapers.

Appearance: It is true when you open the package the diapers are not a masterpiece to look at with a few simple color designs, but THEY ARE DIAPERS..in my opinion who cares! If you're a great parent you know that on most days diapers are on and off in a matter of hours and covered with adorable baby clothes or pajamas most of the time anyways.

Usability: The Diapers come tightly packaged like any others in an easy to tear plastic bag. They go on easily with stretchable and flexible tabs and seem to fit the sizes and weights of children as advertised on the package.

Performance: I have put my son in the diapers 24/7 and have experienced very few leaks. They are very absorbent however they are little more bulky than some other brands. The diapers have not caused any diaper rashes on my son.

Availability: The sizes and quantities I desire have always been available in stock during each visit.

Price: The price is the overall best aspect of these diapers. I was able to buy a 90 pack of diapers for around $10.00!!
